Auchan, Metro, and Varus have set new prices for sunflower oil, salt, and sugar.


In April of this year, Ukrainian supermarkets changed prices for sunflower oil, salt, and sugar. This information was provided by Minfin.
Salt, sugar, and sunflower oil are essential food products for Ukrainians. They are necessary ingredients in many dishes and are used in almost every household.

According to monitoring of prices in the largest retail chains in Ukraine in April 2025, the cost of basic food products has changed. The price of sugar has especially decreased.
In March, sugar cost an average of 34.70 hryvnias per kilogram. In April, the price dropped to 33.20 hryvnias, which is approximately a 4.3% decrease. In Auchan and Metro stores, sugar can be purchased at the best price of 32.90 hryvnias, while in Megamarket, it is 33.60 hryvnias.

The situation with salt prices is slightly different. The cost of sea salt has increased slightly. In March, a kilogram of salt averaged 36.95 hryvnias, while in April, the price increased to 37.45 hryvnias. Meanwhile, prices in different stores vary: in Auchan, salt can be bought for 35.00 hryvnias, while in Megamarket, it is 39.90 hryvnias per kilogram.
Sunflower oil 'Olejna' in a volume of 850 ml costs an average of 74.02 hryvnias, which is 5.5% cheaper than in March when the price was 78.36 hryvnias. The price difference between stores is also large. The best deal for 'Olejna' can be found in Auchan for 66.80 hryvnias, in Novus the price is 69.99 hryvnias, while in Megamarket and Metro it is 81.40 hryvnias and 77.90 hryvnias respectively.
The price of sunflower oil 'Shchedry Dar' of the same volume in April is 80.43 hryvnias, which is 0.6% higher than in March (79.92 hryvnias). The price for this product is more consistent among different stores. For example, Novus sells it for 81.99 hryvnias, Auchan for 80.10 hryvnias, and Metro for 79.20 hryvnias.
Finally, it should be mentioned that prices for beef, boiled sausage, and lard have changed before Easter.
Thus, prices for basic food products in Ukraine continue to change, providing consumers with choices and a variety of product assortments in their diet.
