Banks and exchangers refuse to accept 100 dollars: Ukrainians informed about the reasons.

The Ukrainian National Bank explained which types of 100-dollar bills are not accepted by banks and exchangers.
This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The 100-dollar bill of the USA has been updated several times throughout its history. With each update, both the appearance of the currency and its release date changed. Therefore, people have uncertainty – will the old version of the banknote be accepted when exchanging currency or not.
The National Bank provided clear explanations regarding this issue. The main point is that all 100-dollar bills issued since 1914 are legal means of payment in Ukraine and should be accepted by banks and exchange points without restrictions.
It is worth noting a few points:
- Old or new bills do not matter
- Changes in the design of the banknote do not affect their validity
- The last update of the design of the 100-dollar bill occurred in 2013, but even older versions remain valid
However, banks have the right to refuse to conduct operations with certain types of dollars. This refers to bills that are:
- worn out or damaged
- counterfeit.
Earlier, it was reported what exchange rate Ukrainians should prepare for in 2025 regarding the dollar and euro.
