British intelligence explained why Russia's losses on the front have increased again.

Recently, Russia has suffered significant losses on the front due to the intensification of attacks by its army. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence of Great Britain.
According to British intelligence, Russia has lost 138,000 personnel (killed and wounded) in the war against Ukraine in 2025.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the average daily losses of Russia in March 2025 amounted to about 1,300 personnel. This is more than in February (1,250), but less than at the end of 2024, when about 1,600 military personnel were killed or wounded daily.
Increase in losses
According to British intelligence, at the beginning of April 2025, losses continue to grow, indicating an increase in Russian attacks across the front. It is likely that Russian forces are trying to resume their offensive operations after a certain lull at the beginning of the year.
Despite the relative stability of the frontline, Russia's losses this year significantly exceed the figures from the spring of last year when daily losses rarely exceeded 1,000 personnel. Overall, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the losses of the Russian army are estimated at 920,000 personnel.
Earlier, OSUV 'Khortytsia' published data on Russia's losses on the Eastern Front. According to estimates by the operational-strategic grouping of troops, Russia has suffered significant losses per square kilometer of Ukrainian territory. In three months of 2025 on the Eastern Front, Russia lost 146 military personnel, 1 tank, 2 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), and 4.5 artillery pieces.
