China Expands Influence in Africa Through Port Infrastructure.

The African Center for Strategic Studies is concerned about China's position in African port infrastructure. According to their report, Chinese companies control a third of the commercial ports on the continent. The reason for this distribution of control is the debt of African countries to China and the restrictions on national assets. Furthermore, the use of some ports for military purposes presents a potential danger, as evidenced by the Chinese military base in Djibouti.
An example of Chinese control over ports is the company China Harbor Engineering Co. There are also six African ports that, due to their construction, could be used for military purposes. The dependence of African countries on Chinese port infrastructure could lead to a tendency not to oppose China's policies. Experts warn that China will strive to increase its role in the construction of African ports to achieve its commercial, economic, and military goals.
This data is alarming, given China's significant influence in Africa. It is important to pay attention to the potential consequences of such dependence and ensure the protection of African countries' interests.
