Commanders of 'Azov' and 'Charter' will lead two corps of the National Guard.

Two corps have been created in the National Guard of Ukraine: they are headed by the commander of the 12th 'Azov' brigade Denis Prokopenko (Redis) and the commander of the 13th brigade Igor Obolensky (Cornet). According to the commander of the National Guard Oleksandr Pivnenko, this is part of a general reform during which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are transitioning to a corps management system. Pivnenko noted that the brigades of the National Guard have significant experience and authority. The establishment of corps will improve communication among the military and make the army more effective. Only those responsible for planning will know about operational planning, which reduces the likelihood of information leaks.
In the new National Guard 'Azov' corps, the First Presidential Brigade of Operational Purpose 'Bureviy', the 12th Special Purpose Brigade 'Azov', the 14th Operational Purpose Brigade 'Chervona Kalyna', the 15th Operational Purpose Brigade 'Kara-Dag', and the newly formed 20th Operational Purpose Brigade 'Liubart' have joined.
The Third Separate Assault Brigade, a unit of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, became the Third Army Corps. This became known on the Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer. The corps under the command of Andriy Biletsky is expected to change the principles of conducting warfare.
Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi previously reported that Ukraine has started organizational reforms for the transition of the Armed Forces to a corps structure. Since the beginning of April this year, the transition to a corps system is planned, which will improve the efficiency of troop utilization.
