New exam rules in Poland: what has changed for schoolchildren from Ukraine.

The duration of exams for eighth-grade students in Poland has been increased

Starting from January 30, 2025, the duration of exams for eighth-grade students in Poland will be increased by 25%. According to the Order of the Minister of Education, students will be given more Time to complete tasks in each subject. In particular, the Polish language exam will last 150 minutes (instead of 120), mathematics will last 125 minutes, and the modern foreign language will last 110 minutes. Foreign students will have even more time: 225 minutes for Polish language, 190 minutes for mathematics, and 110 minutes for foreign language.

Special conditions will apply to students who arrived in Poland after February 24, 2022. They will have 265 minutes for the Polish language exam, while the time for the remaining students for mathematics (125 minutes) and foreign language (110 minutes) will remain the same.

Representatives of the Polish Ministry of Education explain that the extension of exam duration will give students more freedom in using time while solving tasks, reviewing answers, and checking them. This rule applies to all eighth-grade students who will take the exams.

Previously, in Poland, 20,000 Ukrainian children lost their benefits.
