A political analyst explained that Putin is not betting on Harris or Trump in the US elections.

Russia tries to undermine confidence in democracy through the election campaign in the USA
Political analyst Olesya Yakhno noted that Russia uses any electoral campaigns to undermine confidence in democracy. She emphasized that in countries where real democracy exists, it is always difficult to predict the election results, especially if the difference between candidates is small. The election campaign in the USA is now intense, and in the final days before the elections, there is a battle for the states where there is uncertainty among voters.
Olesya Yakhno emphasized that regardless of who wins the elections, the most important thing is that democracy wins in these elections. She noted that in the context of processes taking place in the world and Russia's war against Ukraine, it is crucial what happens in the US elections. The political analyst explained that there are two types of risks that arise in the context of the election campaign: domestic political pause and risks associated with legal proceedings. In case of a small difference in votes, there may be disputes with individual states, which could delay the determination of the election results.
The political analyst also stressed that the topic of risks around the elections and their results is of interest to some countries, particularly Russia, which is interested not in the victory of a specific candidate, but in undermining the authority of democracy. Some Russian politicians, including Medvedev, express confidence that there is a risk of civil war in the USA.
