More than 100 Western figures in an open letter urged not to agree to a deal with Russia that would harm Ukraine.

In the letter, which has more than 100 signatures from Western politicians, scholars, military personnel, journalists, and other public figures, it is noted that if Donald Trump wins the US presidential election, his administration will try to make a deal with Moscow that threatens the interests of Ukraine and European security. In the event Kamala Harris becomes president, the stagnation policy, which has not provided Ukraine with enough opportunities to win the war, will continue.

The letter notes that the fatalism of European governments, which do not believe in Ukraine's victory and limit themselves to strengthening NATO's defense after Ukraine's defeat, could weaken the bloc. An analogy with the Munich Agreement of 1938 is drawn.

"It will be an artificial peace, achieved through a European agreement to partition a sovereign state," the letter emphasizes.

The authors of the letter express the belief that an even more extensive and destructive war will start in the future.

The signatories claim that there is a third way that will help Ukraine cope and win the war with Russia.

"The path to Ukraine's victory exists. It is understood in the defense ministries of NATO countries in Europe," the signatories are convinced.

The letter states that this course of action involves having a coalition of NATO countries willing to join in this step to commit to supporting military and financial aid to Kyiv and reaffirming their support for Ukraine's sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders, focused on a clear strategy and theory of victory.

The authors of the open appeal emphasize the principle "those who wish to act, can act." This means that supporting Ukraine and its victory does not need unanimous approval from all 32 NATO members, but it can be ensured by a coalition of countries that have previously promised to help return occupied territories to Ukraine and provide real security guarantees for Kyiv.

"The myth of the inevitability of Russia's victory. After 2025, Moscow will not be able to sustain its military efforts at the current level. Russia loses 260 pieces of heavy artillery a month while producing only 20. Additionally, Russia loses an average of 144 infantry fighting vehicles a month but produces only 17. In the second half of 2025, stocks of these weapons, as well as many others, may be exhausted," the letter's authors note.
