The Ambassador of Switzerland explained his country's presence at the China-Brazil meeting on Ukraine.

The Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine, Felix Baumann, stated that his country only attended the recent meeting between China and Brazil on the "Peace Plan in Ukraine" as an observer.
He said this in an interview with the agency "Interfax-Ukraine".
"First of all, Switzerland did not join nor sign any communiques after the meeting conducted by China and Brazil last week on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York. Secondly, we were at the meeting only as observers. And the third important point: Switzerland has not changed its position," emphasized Baumann.
The ambassador noted that Switzerland's position remains clear: any response to Russia's full-scale military aggression against Ukraine must fully respect international law, the UN Charter, and, in particular, Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Baumann also explained why Switzerland chose to participate as an observer at the meeting initiated by China and Brazil, and did not sign any communiques.
"But the position of Switzerland has not changed. And nothing should be decided about Ukraine without Ukraine."
He recalled the First Global Summit on Peace in Ukraine, which took place in Switzerland in June, which was based on Ukraine's Peace Formula and other peace proposals in accordance with international law.
Let us recall, Switzerland was invited to the meeting conducted by China and Brazil on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. Switzerland was the only Western country invited.
