The Prominent Hieroglyph Became the Symbol of the Year in Japan.

The Kin - Symbol of the Year 2024 in Japan
In Japan, the symbol for the year 2024 has been chosen as the hieroglyph 'kin', which means 'gold'. This was reported by NHK after a solemn ceremony held at the Pure Water Temple in Kyoto.
The choice of the symbol of the year was made through a nationwide survey. The selection of the hieroglyph 'gold' was influenced by the successes of Japanese athletes at the Paris Olympics, a financial scandal in the Liberal Democratic Party, as well as the inclusion of gold and silver mines on Sado Island in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Traditionally, the symbol of the year is written on a sheet of rice paper measuring 130 by 150 cm. This ceremony has been held annually since 1995. The hieroglyph 'gold' received support from 5.47% of survey participants.
Last year, the symbol of the year was recognized as 'tax', while earlier it was 'battle, war' and 'gold'.
The Oxford English Dictionary has already named the word of the year 2024 as 'brain rotting'. This state occurs when a person diminishes their mental and intellectual abilities due to the abuse of online content on social media.
