The National Guard of Ukraine confirmed the strike by Russian military forces on the shooting range in Sumy region. This information was confirmed by the press service of the National Guard after the missile strike on May 20 on the Shostka community.
'They struck the camp for training Ukrainian soldiers,' the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the occupiers, they discovered the training camp of the 1st Special Forces Brigade of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Shostka. As a result of this strike, according to their data, up to 70 soldiers were killed, and an ammunition depot and equipment were hit.
However, the National Guard confirmed the information about the strike, clarifying that 6 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and 10 were injured. Immediately after this, a service investigation was launched, and the commander was dismissed from office.
