Forecasters warned of frost down to -9 and icy conditions: where Ukrainians should expect snow.


The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reported that dry weather is expected in Ukraine in the coming days, except for the Carpathians and Transcarpathia, where a slight snowfall is possible. Drivers are advised to be cautious due to icy conditions on the roads.
The temperature will range from -4 to -9 degrees at night and from -3 to +2 degrees during the day in some regions, and from -1 to -6 degrees in others. In Kyiv, temperatures at night will be -4...-6 degrees, and during the day -0...-2 degrees. Icy conditions are possible on the roads of the capital.
An interesting historical fact: according to the observatory of Boris Sreznevsky, on January 5, temperature records were recorded in Kyiv – the warmest daytime temperature was +8.4 degrees (1925), while the coldest nighttime temperature was -26.8 degrees (1935).
On January 6, the weather will be eastern depending on the region. In the western part of the country, as well as during the day in the northern and some central regions and in Kharkiv region, a light rain with wet snow is expected. In other regions, no precipitation is expected. Drivers are recommended to be careful due to icy conditions on the roads, except in the southern regions.
The nighttime temperature will be 2-7 degrees of frost, during the day from 3 degrees frost to 2 degrees of warmth, and in the western and southern regions from 1 to 6 degrees of warmth. A slight snowfall may occur in the Carpathians. In Kyiv, on January 6, light rain is forecasted with a transition to snow, and icy conditions will also be present on the roads. The nighttime temperature will be 4-6 degrees of frost, and around 0 degrees during the day.
