Taiwan Conducts First Test of New HIMARS Rocket System.

Taiwan Tests New Rocket System from the USA
Taiwan successfully conducted its first test of the new HIMARS rocket system received from the United States. This system can be used to target objectives in China in the event of military conflict with Taiwan.
Taiwan, the largest recipient of arms from the USA, has faced increasing military pressure from China. Several rounds of military exercises have been conducted by Beijing to assert its claims of sovereignty over the island.
I believe this missile launch demonstrates to our people the military's determination to protect the country's security and safeguard our beautiful homeland.
With a range of about 300 km, the HIMARS rocket systems can strike coastal targets in China's Fujian province, located across the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan has purchased 29 such systems, which its military has successfully tested on a remote coastline.
The testing of the HIMARS system occurred a day after Taiwan announced the 'joint patrol of combat readiness' by Chinese troops near the island. Taiwan's democratic government rejects China's claims to sovereignty, emphasizing the right of local residents to self-determination.
Analysis
The testing of the new HIMARS rocket system is yet another step in strengthening Taiwan's defense capabilities in the event of possible military conflict with neighboring China. Increased military pressure from Beijing has forced Taiwan to seek new ways to enhance its defense.
