On Tuesday morning, May 27, about 200 thousand citizens in Texas were left without electricity due to severe storms. This is reported by 'Glavcom' referring to Newsweek.

According to the poweroutage.us tracker, the eastern Trinity County has over 3,700 affected individuals, which is 33.2% of the total number of monitored clients. More than 3,300 people (21%) are without power in neighboring Houston County, over 38,000 in Montgomery County, and others. In total, 197,764 subscribers have lost electricity.

«It is forecasted that numerous thunderstorms will impact parts of the Southern Plains, the Mid-South, and the Tennessee Valley. Strong storms may cause large hail, wind gusts, and several tornadoes. Additionally, further excessive rainfall is likely, which may lead to numerous flooding incidents in the state», the article states.

Currently, residents are warned about possible floods and sudden flash floods, with expectations of strong thunderstorms and winds gusting up to 58 miles per hour (93 km/h).

Moreover, the large-scale power outage on April 28 affected the Iberian Peninsula and caused the Spanish economy losses amounting to about 1.6 billion euros.
