Ukraine has developed a 'Shahed-like' drone 'Batjar': characteristics.

The new strike drone 'Batjar' is capable of flying 800 km
The Ukrainian company DeepStrikeTech has introduced a new multipurpose strike drone named 'Batjar', which has the power to fly over a distance of 800 km. This drone was initially designed as a kamikaze drone for deep strikes, but its capabilities have been expanded, and now it can perform a variety of tasks.
The 'Batjar' drone is equipped with a gasoline engine in the version for long-range operations and carries a payload of 18 kg. This new drone has been nicknamed 'Shahed-like' due to its shape resembling the 'Shahed' glider of Russian-Iranian origin, but it is noted that this is merely a visual analogy.
- The following changes have been made to the new 'Batjar' drone:
- new type of warhead weighing 90 kg;
- relocation of the flight controller, power distribution unit, and battery from the nose to the tail;
- installation of additional ballast in the UAV's design.
“One of the goals of the development was to create a lightweight drone that can be launched from a catapult or a car - without prepared sites or special equipment. Approaching the target in a steep dive, the drone is capable of maintaining a set course even in a damaged state,” the developers note.
According to intelligence information, Russia has started to replace components from the USA and the EU with Chinese products for use in new series of drones, such as 'Y' and 'KC'.
