Mass anti-government demonstrations took place in Israel ahead of negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Thousands of people took to the streets of various cities demanding the resignation of the government and an agreement with Hamas on the release of hostages. Protesters are demanding swift action to resolve the conflict.
Another round of ceasefire negotiations is scheduled for today, but the Hamas delegation wants to be only observers, which complicates reaching agreements.
The Israeli government is facing growing public discontent over the escalation of the conflict with Hamas. They propose building a wall on the border with Gaza to prevent tunnel digging and access to control system data.
