The United Kingdom is abolishing import duties on nearly 90 products.

The UK Department for Business and Trade announces a temporary suspension of customs duties on 89 types of food products and essential goods.
According to the department's information, this measure will be in effect until 2027.
Among these goods are pasta, fruit juices, spices, gardening equipment, plastics, and a number of building materials. According to the department's estimates, this will save businesses and consumers at least £17 million a year.
Savings for businesses on products such as pasta, fruit juices, coconut oil, and pine nuts could be passed on to consumers just in Time for the summer season, meaning lower prices for groceries in supermarkets, restaurants, and pubs.
It is noted that for products such as agave syrup, often used in 'Margarita' cocktails, and plant bulbs, customs duties will also be abolished, meaning cocktail enthusiasts and gardening amateurs will be able to enjoy reduced prices at the start of warm weather.
