Successful negotiations in Jeddah between Ukraine and the USA instilled hope for a possible end to the conflict. Although Russia has not yet commented on the situation, a ceasefire supported by Kyiv now seems real. However, achieving even a temporary ceasefire is a difficult task, and the path to long-term peace will be even tougher.

After the unsuccessful meeting between Zelensky and Trump, Ukraine managed to restore productive relations with the American side. In response to Ukraine's agreement to cease hostilities, the USA resumed military supplies and intelligence sharing.

The Ukrainian side positively assesses these arrangements, as a joint statement was published after negotiations in Jeddah that refutes claims about Ukraine's unwillingness to end the war. However, the decision to completely cease fire along the entire front line deviates from Kyiv's position during the first two years of the conflict.
