The EU has named the terms for opening negotiation clusters for Ukraine.

European Commissioner: The EU may open all clusters in negotiations with Ukraine by autumn
European Commissioner for Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi reported that the European Union may open all clusters in the negotiation process with Ukraine by autumn this year. She noted that Ukraine has completed its part of the 'homework' and is ready to open cluster 1 'Basics'.
'If we continue to move forward as quickly as we have until now, we can complete all screenings by autumn. This is also an important message for Ukraine - stay strong, keep fighting, keep battling against corruption and uphold the rule of law,' Várhelyi emphasized.
The Commissioner also noted that the opening of cluster 1 'Basics' could help Hungary receive answers to concerns regarding the rights of the Hungarian minority. She stressed that the protection of minority rights is a key aspect of the negotiations, and Ukraine's integration into the EU is a guarantee of security not only for Ukraine but for all of Europe.
Analysis
Olivér Várhelyi's statement regarding the possible opening of all clusters in the negotiations is an important step towards bringing Ukraine closer to the European Union. The opening of the 'Basics' cluster could be a significant step in resolving contentious issues with Hungary and affirm Ukraine's readiness to meet European standards.
